Our RYA Powerboat Instructor Course is designed for experienced powerboat drivers who want to take the next step in their career by teaching others. This three-day course equips you with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver the RYA Powerboat Level 2 syllabus effectively and confidently.

The course consists of both practical on-water training and classroom-based sessions, covering:
🚤 Teaching techniques & lesson planning
⚓ Safe boat handling & demonstrations
🗺️ Navigational & tidal considerations
👨🏫 Classroom-based theory & presentations
To be eligible for the RYA Powerboat Instructor Course, you must:
Hold the RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate
Have at least 5 seasons of powerboating experience (this can be reduced to just one for those with commercial experience)
Hold a valid RYA First Aid certificate or an equivalent recognised qualification
Have passed the RYA Powerboat Instructor Skills Assessment (We arrange this for you the day before)
Be at least 18 years old
